A small taverna by the entrance serves drinks and food beside the streams, making it an easy, relaxed half-day rather than a strenuous hike.
The tunnel walk to the lake
The signature experience is the tunnel: a narrow, pitch-dark 186-metre passage with ankle-deep spring water running through it, leading to the little lake at the far end. Walking it barefoot through the cold water in single file is a memorable adventure, especially for children.
If you would rather not go through the tunnel, a scenic footpath over the top reaches the same lake. Bring water shoes or sandals and a phone torch for the tunnel.
